Opens Mar 31 2026 05:00 AM (-05)
Description

The Government of the Cayman Islands, through the Ministry of Education and Training, seeks to ensure that high-quality teaching and curriculum content, alongside sound governance and efficient management, are demonstrated by all institutions and entities operating in the post-compulsory landscape of the Cayman Islands.  The Government affirms its commitment to maintaining a high‑quality, transparent, and learner‑centred post‑compulsory education and training system.

The Education Act (2024) and the Education Regulations (2024) authorise the Education Council to register educational institutions in the Cayman Islands.

  • PART A: Application for Certificate of Institutional Registration

The submitted online application with all sections completed and all required uploaded documents pertaining to PART A will be reviewed by the Education Council, which will, on approval, grant the entity a Certificate of Institutional Registration. This confirms that the entity has met the institutional requirements set by Education Council and in the Ministry’s policies and guidelines to register as a Tertiary, TVET and Other Post-Compulsory Educational Institution. The Certificate of Institutional Registration will allow the institution to carry on business in the Cayman Islands.  The certificate is to be displayed on the premises at all times.

Registration under this regulation shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of issue of the registration certificate, and an application for renewal shall be made no later than sixty days before the date of expiration of the registration certificate.
