The Government of the Cayman Islands, through the Ministry of Education and Training, seeks to ensure that high-quality teaching and curriculum content, alongside sound governance and efficient management, are demonstrated by all institutions and entities operating in the post-compulsory landscape of the Cayman Islands. The Government affirms its commitment to maintaining a high‑quality, transparent, and learner‑centred post‑compulsory education and training system.
The Education Act (2024) and the Education Regulations (2024) authorise the Education Council to register educational institutions in the Cayman Islands.
PART B: Application for Certificate of Programme Registration
Institutions which are awarded the Certificate of Programme Registration are eligible to participate in partnerships with entities within the Government of the Cayman Islands for the approved programme of study as specified on the Certificate.
Note: all applicants must have prior award of the Certificate of Institutional Registration.
The Education Council will review all required documents submitted on the online portal, including the industry endorsement, and, upon approval, will grant the entity a Certificate of Programme Registration for each approved programme of instruction.This certificate is to be displayed on the premises at all times.
Registration under this regulation shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of issue of the registration certificate and an application for renewal shall be made no later than sixty days before the date of expiration of the registration certificate.
